    Original West End production of the JOHN BYRNE play "SLAB BOYS" at the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs in London. (The production premiered at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh, Scotland in April 1978 and transferred to the Royal Court Theatre on October 17th, 1978.) ..... "The Slab Boys" won JOHN BYRNE London's "Evening Standard" Award for "Most Promising Playwright" for 1978. The play would open March 7th, 1983 at New York's Playhouse Theatre where it ran for 48 performances.
