This is a rare single page advertising handbill (flyer) promoting ticket sales for the Pre-Broadway tryout and WORLD PREMIERE engagement of the GIAN-CARLO MENOTTI musical "THE CONSUL" at the Shubert Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania beginning March 1st, 1950. (The production would open March 15th, 1950 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in New York City and run for 269 performances.) ..... This single page, two-sided handbill measures 5 7/8" X 8 7/8" inches and includes production credits, performance dates and ticket prices on the front and promotional text and a ticket order form on the backside ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light creasing along the right edge, this rare flyer is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
